Today, February 15th, is Axel Charrette Day in Ridgway, Colorado. Axel was a cuddly and curious two-year old and a resident of Ridgway when he tragically passed away in 2013. Our hearts go out to the Charrette family as we remember Axel.

“As Ridgway's mayor, and a friend of the Charrettes, I'd like to remind everyone that today is Axel Charrette Day,” said John Clark, Ridgway Mayor. “The Town Council made the proclamation back in 2014, after Axel was tragically murdered in Mexico the previous year. Today would have been Axel's 15th birthday. Let us never forget that smiling jewel of a little boy. With much love to Jen, Randy, Kalden and Lars."

The Town of Ridgway encourages everyone to go outside and celebrate our incredible natural world -- in honor of Axel.
