Citizens State Bank is RACC Member of the Month!

The Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce is recognizing Citizens State Bank as our May 2026 Member of the Month. The Member of the Month program is an ongoing effort by the Chamber to provide residents and visitors information about businesses and organizations in the area and promote the patronage of our local resources and our small, independent companies. RACC recently sat down with Alexander Price, President & CEO of Citizens State Bank.

1. Please introduce yourself and your company.

My name is Alexander Price, and I’m the CEO of Citizens State Bank. I’m proud to call Ridgway home and even prouder to lead a truly community-rooted bank that serves the Western Slope. Citizens State Bank is locally owned, locally managed, and deeply committed to the people, businesses, and communities we serve—many of whom we’ve worked alongside for generations. My family has been on the Western slope since the 1870s and I’m even raising my own next generation with my wife Olivia and our three girls (and a fourth on the way!).

2. How long has Citizens State Bank been serving Ridgway and the Western Slope?

Citizens State Bank has been serving Ridgway and the Western Slope for more than a century, and longevity like that doesn’t happen by accident. Our team has remained guided by a strong sense of True North—staying grounded in our values, focused on long-term relationships, and committed to doing business the right way through both good times and challenging ones.

For me personally, this mission is deeply meaningful. I’m not just leading this bank—I’m raising my family here, banking where my neighbors bank, and helping build the future of the same community I call home. That sense of alignment keeps us focused on stewardship, not short-term gains.

3. What services does Citizens State Bank currently offer?

We believe banking should feel personal. Not just polite — actually personal. The kind where someone knows your name, understands your situation, and gives you advice that's genuinely useful for you, not just technically correct. That starts with the people you work with. Our team brings real expertise to every conversation — whether you're opening your first checking account, financing a business expansion, or figuring out a smarter way to manage your company's cash flow. We’re here to help you think it through, not just hand you a form.

We offer everything you’d expect from a full-service bank — personal and business checking and savings, consumer and commercial loans, treasury management, and modern digital tools that make everyday banking easy. But what you might not expect is how local all of it feels. Decisions get made here, by people who live and work in this community alongside you.

And with Altitude Mortgage™, we’ve extended that same local, personal approach to home lending —so whether you’re buying your first home or refinancing, you’ve got a real person in your corner from start to finish.

4. How many locations across the Western Slope are there?

Citizens State Bank currently serves the Western Slope through seven branch locations, including Ridgway, Ouray, Montrose, Silverton, Naturita, and the Telluride; Mountain Village area. Each location reflects the unique character of its community while operating as part of one connected regional bank.

5. What is the most rewarding part of serving the Western Slope?

The most rewarding part is seeing our values turn into real impact. Whether it’s helping a local business expand, supporting a family’s first home, or investing back into community projects, we get to play a small but meaningful role in shaping the places we live. One recent example is our donation toward the Cimarron Athletic Field, a project that will benefit local kids and families for years to come. Supporting efforts like this reflects our belief that strong communities are built through shared investment. We do this by showing up, staying committed, and keeping our compass pointed toward what matters most.
