Ridgway Public Library is RACC March Member of the Month!

The Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce the Ridgway Public Library as our March 2026 Member of the Month! The Member of the Month program is an ongoing effort by the Chamber to provide residents and visitors information about businesses and organizations in the area and promote the patronage of our local resources and our small, independent companies. RACC recently had the opportunity to sit down with Library Director Amy Baer to discuss what events are happening at the library soon and the abundance of resources that the Ridgway Public Library offers.

1. Please introduce yourself, your role, and the name of your business.

The library is a wonderful space for our community to enjoy and celebrate. We have a knowledgeable and helpful staff, a dedicated board of trustees and a supportive Friends of the Library group. 

2. What programs does the Library currently offer?

Children's Programs include : Storytime, Homework Hours, Chess Club, Craft Time, Tween & Teen Cafe

Adult Programs include : Mahjong, Club de Conversación, Tech Help, Sewing Class, Community Book Club, Reading Group

3. Tell us about the Bingo game the Library is currently doing.

Our third annual Adult Reading Bingo Challenge began January 2nd and will run through March 31st. Earn prizes for 1 bingo, 3 bingos and a completed bingo sheet. Learn more details and pick up a bingo sheet at the front desk. All participants need a current library card.

3. What events will the Ridgway Library hosting in the near future that you'd like to share?

Upcoming events during the month of March : Black Canyon Art Show reception on Saturday March 14th from 4-7pm

Community Book Club on Thursday March 19th from 12-1pm, Tech Help each Thursday between 4-6pm

The library partners with the Ridgway Film Club which will meet at the Decker Room on March 6th and 27th at 7pm 

4. What are some items besides books that people are able to check out?

With a library card offerings beyond a book include access to downloadable materials on Libby, Cloud Library, Kanopy and NYT newspaper and Colorado Historic Newspaper Collection. Other items to check out at the library include magazines, Spanish book collection, DVDs, audio materials, Chromebooks and most recently a DVD player or portable DVD player. The library offers regional as well as national newspapers on site to read.

We have a wonderful seed library, where the community can share their seeds or take seeds for their own garden. The library also has a puzzle library through donations from community members. All are welcome to take puzzles, pass them around and bring them back.

On-site patrons can connect to Wi-Fi. The library offers PCs, Apple computers and Chromebooks along with a copier for printing and scanning. The library has 3 meeting rooms for group and individual use with a reservation made online, in person or over the phone.
